This 1984 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC was purchased by the current owner and seller in 1990 as a one-owner example with a clean history. The current owner has notedly driven the car sparingly only in excellent weather conditions since acquiring and has maintained service records since 1990. The SEC is finished in Anthracite Grey Metallic (172) over Grey (258) leather, and power is provided by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes original 14” Bundt wheels, automatic climate control, a power sunroof, front heated seats, a power antenna, and cruise control. In addition to the long-term documented records, recent services include new front lower ball joints, a new battery, fresh oil service, and a new air conditioning system as of late 2021. This C126 shows only 68k miles and is now offered by the seller with manufacturer’s literature, 32 years of service records, a service log kept by the owner, two spare Bundt wheels, original tool roll, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Connecticut registration.

The car is finished in Anthracite Grey Metallic (172) and features US-Spec bumpers and headlamps, lower fog lamps, original OEM front and rear lamps, and original glass. No scratches, paint chips, or rust are reported on the body with the only blemish being a ¼” mark in the brightwork atop the rear bumper which has been documented in the photos. The owner has driven the SEC sparingly and has kept it in climate controlled storage since acquiring it in 1990. 

Factory 14” Bundt wheels are shown on the car with two spare wheels included in the sale. BFGoodrich Radial TA tires measuring 205/70 are shown on all four wheels and were installed in 2014. 676 miles are documented on the new wheels and tires since install. The original Bundt wheel and spare tire are pictured in the trunk along with the factory tool roll. 

The cabin is finished in Grey (258) leather and features original Burl Walnut trim on the center console, dash, and doors. Interior features include power windows, automatic climate control, courtesy lamps, heated power front seats, and cruise control. Every feature is reportedly in working order. A period-correct radar detector is installed in the car from the first owner prior to 1990 along with a wood shift knob. Matching Grey Mercedes-Benz floor mats are shown in the footwells and the Grey leather remains supple and free from cracks and major creases. 

The original steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and instant fuel economy. The six-digit odometer shows only 68k original and documented miles. the seller notes the car has been driven 244 miles since the photos were taken. 

The 5.0-liter M117 V8 is equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 184 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque when new. Recent services include new front lower ball joints, a new battery, fresh oil service, and a new air conditioning system as of late 2021. The owner has kept service records for the SEC since 1990 and a handwritten service log documenting services and correlating mileage. Records can be seen in the gallery below.
