Very well-sold. I purchased one 10 years ago for $1000 they were giving them away.
These seem to be a perfect car for most applications. Almost too practical!
Impressive auto and great to see all that work done. Why the intake and valve covers were not powder coated while they were pains me on such a beautiful example. Should do well.
Big number, but a great car. Glad it did well here. This site is really doing a great job.
This is such a perfect specimen of a E55 and the seller is perhaps the most particular and committed Mercedes-Benz enthusiast i’ve ever met. He only buys the best and just makes them better under his meticulous ownership.
Probably. Call him up.
Send it to Karl with a blank check.
Very nice. I own of the 2009 Wagons/estate. Its a blast and the M156 is a perfect match for this chassis. White/tan third-row seat.
One of the nicest Anniversary Editions I've ever seen.
Great auction @600SEC_AMG. A market moment for a early C140 V12. Also, a great day for MB Market.
Such a pristine example. I have read through this auction, and I am so thoroughly impressed with the amount of effort put in this vehicle - whoever purchases it will obtain perhaps one of the best examples in existence. At this point most W/C140 V12’s need a lot of what the seller has done here except for perhaps paint work. Beware of the garage queens with no maintenance history! This 600SEC is better than new after all of this documenter work done resolving all know issues with early C140 M120’s. Even most later examples have sat for a long time and may look good, but many gremlins lurking beneath due to lack of use and preventative maintenance. I've looked at a few and they need all of what was done here, but the owners think they are worth current bid. Nope. This 600SEC is a big deal and at current bid. I already own a 97 S600 and SL600 and have been tempted to acquire this but really do not need any more vehicles in my life! When these are properly sorted they are incredible highway touring machines. I’m sure the seller will provide ongoing technical support for anything that may arise and that service after the sale is a major buying point. Better than new.
What a beautiful example of an appreciating classic. I own a 2009 in white/tan. Great vehicles that one can use during all seasons in life and if maintained enjoyable for many years. Head bolt failures do occur, yet happen slowly giving owners plenty of notice and the whole head gasket/updated bolt job is relatively reasonable for an exotic car and straightforward. Also, once addressed may never be an issue again. Should not prevent any prospects from bidding. Theses are tremendous values and this one in exceptional condition.
The listing, pics and vehicle are just stunning. What a perfect example of a high-speed touring coupe. These are a big "BUY" while you can get still the good ones.
Would be a wonderful daily driver. Apparently one of only 886 US market 1999 320LWB. Great color same as my S600. I’m not too excited about these rims but if anybody’s interested I have the correct rims with good Michelin tires. I got the ultimate score of some grand edition AMG Monoblocs for mine last year.
So the car was repainted Mars red - any documentation of where?
